Claudius. AD 41-54. Æ As (29mm, 10.93 g, 12h). Uncertian mint in Thrace. Struck AD 42-43. TI CLAVDIVS CAESAR AVG P M TR P IMP P P, bare head left / CERES AVGVSTA, S C in exergue, Ceres seated left, holding grain ears and long torch. Cf. RIC I 110; cf. von Kaenel Type 73; cf. CNG E-398, lot 499. Brown patina, porosity, smoothing. VF. Prominent centering hole on obverse confirms that this is not a product of the Rome mint.
